History

Founded in 1999 by former Menghai factory owner Zhou Bing Liang in partnership with Lu Guoling The primary processing plant lies in Yunshou Mountain adjacent to Aini Village where the local people maintain tea trees. The company claims that this region supplies 1000 metric tonnes of raw material to the factory each year.

On the philosophy of the company, Mr. Bingliang writes, "Tea manufacturers shall be responsible for making good tea and let every customer afford to drink it, no matter who is poor or rich. If the pu'er tea became a kind of luxury for meeting a few people, we should be disgraced to face our predecessors."

Products

Haiwan produces most of the traditional compressed forms, including bricks, bings, and tuos. Their branding usually includes a trio of sunflowers. Often the packaging is colored to indicate a cooked puerh (red), or raw (green).
