Pinyin Simplified Traditional NCIKU Description
Shui Xian 水仙 水仙 NCIKU shui xian = literally 'narcissus' or 'Water Sprite' (水仙), a large leaf oolong variety grown all over Fujian Province and Fenghuangshan in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province. See also, Yancha
Da Hong Pao 大红袍 大紅袍 da hong pao = a Wu Yi oolong, literally 'Big Red Robe' (大红袍 or 大紅袍), canonically one of the rarest of all teas, grown from several shrubs on a cliff and fairly heavily oxidized and roasted. By extension, DHP can also mean any tea supposedly made from that cultivar, even a Taiwan-style oolong made from bushes grown in Thailand. See also, Yancha
Bei Dou #1 北斗 北鬥 bei dou = a Wu Yi oolong, literally 'North Star' (北斗 or 北鬥), the #1 is intended to indicate that it is a 1st generation cutting from da hong pao. Sometimes referred to as 'the Big Dipper'. Expect to find many of the characteristics of da hong pao, especially the nearer it is grown to the centre of Wuyi Shan. Sometimes called Bei Dou Yi Hao (北斗一号 or 北鬥一號). See also, Yancha
Qu Shi  ??  ?? qu shi = a Wu Yi oolong, literally 'Sparrow's Tongue' (?? or ??), another 1st generation cutting from da hong pao. Presumably it could also have the #1 suffix. See also, Yancha
Qi Dan 奇丹 奇丹 qi dan= a Wu Yi oolong, literally 'Strange Vermilion' (奇丹), another 1st generation cutting from da hong pao. Presumably it could also have the #1 suffix. See also, Yancha
Rou Gui 肉桂 肉桂 NCIKU rou gui = a Wu Yi oolong varietal, literally 'cinnamon,' or 'cassia-bark' (肉桂.) This varietal is the most commonly grown varietal in the Wu Yi area and is often used in Blends which supposedly approximate Da Hong Pao. This varietal is also cultivated in Anxi, Fujian Province. Tie Luo Han 铁罗汉 鐵罗漢 NCIKU tie luo han = a Wu Yi oolong varietal, literally 'Iron Arhat' (铁罗汉 or 鐵罗漢) This varietal is one of the four most famous Wuyi tea varietals: the Si Da Ming Cong or the 'Four Famous Tea Bushes' (四大名丛.) See also, Yancha

Wu Niu Zao 乌牛早 烏牛早 wu niu zao = a green tea varietal, literally 'early dark cow' (乌牛早 or 烏牛早) This varietal is the most popular tea in the southern Zhejiang prefecture of Wenzhou. Other Wenzhou green tea varietals: Yandang Maofeng (雁荡毛峰), Taishun Sanbeixiang (泰顺三杯香)

Hongni 红泥 紅泥 hongni = (红泥 or 紅泥) a red Zisha, literally Red Mud. See also, Yixing
Duanni 缎泥 緞泥 duanni = (1) (缎泥 or 緞泥) a yellow or green Zisha, literally Satin Mud; or (2) (锻泥 or 鍛泥) a composite of Zini or Zhuni and other minerals
